What Fundamental Skin offers

Our listed light-based service is IPL Photo Rejuvenation. IPL means Intense Pulsed Light; it is not a laser. We do not list a vascular laser service. A consultation can assess whether a cosmetic IPL appointment is appropriate for the appearance of your redness or visible capillaries, or whether referral is more appropriate.

Why assessment matters

Persistent redness can have causes that need medical care. Discuss new or worsening redness with a GP or dermatologist. Cosmetic IPL is not a substitute for diagnosis or management of a medical condition.

Questions to ask

• Is IPL suitable for my skin tone, the location of the visible vessels and my recent sun exposure?
• What precautions apply to my medicines, light sensitivity or previous reactions?
• Is a test patch appropriate, and what are the alternatives, including no treatment?
• What are the costs, possible side effects and aftercare requirements?

Risks and expectations

Possible side effects include temporary redness and swelling, burns and changes in pigmentation. Suitability and risks must be discussed individually. We do not promise vessel clearance, a fixed number of sessions or a deadline for results.
